Sungai Baru Duck Farm raises Pekin and local crossbreed ducks on ponds near Alor Gajah and processes them in its own halal slaughter room. Birds are sold whole and dressed, as parts, or smoked over coconut husk for itik salai masak lemak, a dish many Negeri Sembilan and Melaka restaurants keep on the menu.
Customers include Malay restaurants, Chinese roast and braised duck stalls, and wedding caterers in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and northern Johor. The farm also sells salted duck eggs from its own layers. Chilled deliveries run three times a week.
