One-man carpentry workshop building solid wood stall counters, benches and stools for hawkers and small kedai makan in Kelantan.
Hamid Ismail works alone from a workshop behind his house in Kubang Kerian, building counters, benches and stools for nasi kerabu stalls, kopitiams and small kedai makan. Most pieces are made from chengal or merbau offcuts bought from sawmills in Kuala Krai, finished with marine varnish so they can be hosed down.
He takes three or four jobs a month and prefers to visit the stall first to measure. Delivery within Kota Bharu is by his own small lorry; buyers in Terengganu usually collect or share the transport cost.
Why kitchens choose Bengkel Kayu Pak Hamid
- Hardwood built for wet cleaning and outdoor stalls
- Free site measurement within Kota Bharu
- Small runs welcome, from a single stool
